ABOUT US

About SFFLA

 History

The association was formed and registered in 14th June 1973 under the Societies Act 1966.

Initially, the name of the association was "Association of Forwarding Agents Port Klang" or its acronym AFAPK. As the name implies, the main purpose of the set up was to protect and champion the interest of Forwarding Agents or Custom Brokers.

As the logistics industry evolved, naturally, the association would have to evolve too, thus, in May 2003, the association name, Association of Forwarding Agent Port Klang (AFAPK) was changed to Selangor Freight Forwarders and Logistics Association (SFFLA).

About Us

OUR FUTURE

We work hard every day to cultivate a logistics industry that goes from strength to strength.
We intend to leave an indelible mark on Malaysia as one of the world’s forefront in logistics performance.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Selangor Freight Forwarder and Logistics Association (SFFLA) is a non-profit organization that represents over 700 members and 10 associate members with interest in logistics services.

Our objective is to be the all-encompassing voice for logistics service providers, particularly in the field of

  1. Custom Brokerage
  2. Freight Arrangement
  3. Warehousing
  4. Last-Mile Transportation

With that voice, we continuously represent the interest of all logistics players in the ever changing governmental and business conditions.

In the interest of elevating the status of logistics services to higher professional feats, SFFLA will unceasingly conduct and organize Internationally Certified professional training courses. The courses we orchestrate are in collaboration with International Bodies such as: -

  1. International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA)
  2. International Air Transport Association (IATA)
  3. International Maritime Organization (IMO)

We also pursue the objective of providing a stage for local logistics service providers in Selangor to discuss current matters that affects and effects the industry, channelling those matters in a structured way to the relevant bodies and stakeholders.

As a collective voice, we also seek to establish and evolve Code of Conducts among members, that ultimately will elevate ethical and relevant business practices amongst our peers.

Under our umbrella, SFFLA will nurture and grow new-comers into the industry by providing actionable advices and pragmatic information.
